Abstract
Joseph Benjamin Oakleaf (1858-1930) was a lawyer and book collector from Moline, Illinois. He was known for the historical collections he accumulated, including one of the world's largest collections of material related to Abraham Lincoln. Charlotte J. Odman attended Augustana College from 1934 to 1938. After graduating, Odman worked for the Augustana Book Concern in Rock Island, Illinois, and later at the Board of Publication of the Lutheran Church of America in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Olof Rudbeck Society, named after a Swedish scientist and author, was active on Augustana College’s campus from 1910 until 1928. As one of several Swedish literary societies on campus, the Olof Rudbeck Society was established to further the study of Swedish language and literature.

Paul Pressel was born in Germany. He later moved to Moline, Illinois, and became a citizen of the United States in 1890. He and his wife had two sons, Harry and Ernest. The Pressel family papers, 1890-1967 and undated, contains correspondence, postcards, and legal documents created by four members of the Pressel family: Paul Pressel, Harry Pressel, Ernest Pressel, and Jane Pressel Kaminski.

Lenora Purdy was born 16 July 1912, to Edward Purdy, an employee of the Iowa Telephone Company, and his wife, Antoinette Blaser-Purdy. Lenora had one sister, Erma (1913-2002), and they both attended the Davenport public schools. These included Monroe School, West Intermediate School, and Davenport High School. Cora Santee was born in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania on 16 August 1916. From 1934 to 1937 she attended Augustana College in Rock Island, Illinois, where she sang in the Augustana Choir which was directed by Henry Veld from 1929 to1966.
